Who is the Founder?

Valerie Graf founded Cloud Care in 2026 with a commitment to providing compassionate, client‑centered support for individuals and families. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong foundation in child development and education. Valerie holds a Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University and a Master’s in Education (Pre‑K–2) from Relay Graduate School of Education, along with a Bachelor’s in Child and Family Studies from SUNY Oneonta.

Valerie began her career in nonprofit organizations supporting adults with developmental disabilities and later worked one‑on‑one with children using applied behavior analysis therapy. During her MSW program, she completed internships in adolescent substance‑abuse prevention and macro social work at a Haitian nonprofit.

Her passion for cultural understanding and global learning led her to study abroad in Peru and Costa Rica, and later work in Czechia at an international school as a residential advisor. Valerie has also taught first grade at a charter school and currently serves as a school social worker with the Department of Education.

Across every role, Valerie has remained dedicated to helping individuals grow, feel understood, and build lives that reflect their strengths and interests—values that continue to shape Cloud Care today.

For fun, Valerie likes to wander through different neighborhoods in NYC, savoring the small, unexpected discoveries each one offers. She enjoys quiet evenings at home with her cat, Dr. Melfi, appreciating simple comforts. A childhood cancer survivor, Valerie believes life’s challenges can be eased with compassionate, appropriate support. Today she channels that resilience into running marathons and tackling mountain climbs.

Why Cloud Care?

When I was a child and had trouble falling asleep, my grandmother would tell me to imagine myself floating on a cloud. That simple image always brought me comfort and reminded me that even in difficult moments, we can shift, soften, and find our way forward. Clouds are always changing, and with the right support, we can too. That memory inspired the name Cloud Care—a place where growth, comfort, and possibility are always within reach.
